Netflix has published images of the filming of ‘Wednesday’ and if something is clear, it is that it has not been easy for the actor behind the character of Thing, that hand with a life of its own that has been the faithful companion of the adolescent protagonist during her adventures hunting monsters and assassins.
Victor Dorobantu is the actor who plays the character of Thing, one of the most beloved by the fan public of the Addams Family. And in fact, as much as she receives threats from Wednesday, in the series it is clear that the hand is the protagonist’s weakness and also a great ally. Now Netflix and also Dorobantu have published images of how the scenes of a hand that moves alone, either on land or even underwater, have been shot.
The secret of the shoot is a blue suit and impossible postures. The actor appears in the photos dressed in a kind of blue jumpsuit that allows the body to be eliminated in post- production, leaving only the hand visible. And in this way Dorobantu appears, for example, lying on the floor, shrunken under the furniture or lying on the camera’s trolley.
Jenna Ortega’s Fantastic Dance as Wednesday
Another of the moments in the series that is raising the most expectation, even among the cast, is Jenna Ortega’s dance. The character of Wednesday is not given to parties or celebrations, unless they are funerals. Nevertheless, during her stay at Nevermore her little heart seems to be softening and she finally decides to go to the prom. The decision is most appropriate, especially after seeing the dance that the protagonist marks, yes, without hardly changing the serious rictus. If you’re only going to see one scene in the series, make it that one. In fact, the platform has also published a video of the reaction of the cast reacting to the electric and hypnotic movements of Ortega to the rhythm of the song ‘Goo Goo Mucks’ by The Cramps.
watching the video, the actress has revealed that she created the choreography for the dance herself. “I actually felt very insecure, I choreographed it myself and I think it’s very obvious that I’m not a dancer or a choreographer,” says Ortega. She instantly gets her co-star Hunter Doohan’s retort contradicting her: “No, it’s unbelievable, it’s fantastic.” Also you can see the rest of the cast very excited about the scene, especially Percy Hynes White, who plays Xabier Thorpe, who says he could watch “a whole show about dancing.” “It’s so good”, he assures him after highlighting aspects such as the lighting or the composition of the scene.

Other information about the filming and locations
The series takes place for the most part at Nevermore Academy, located in the town of Jericho in Vermont. However, filming has taken place a little further away. All the scenarios are real and are located in Bucharest (Romania) and its surroundings, as Netflix has confirmed to us. Up to 70 locations and six studios have been used for filming because there are scenes that have required the latest computer technology. In fact, Nevermore shots were shot at Cantacuzino Castle in the Romanian Carpathians, and then supplemented with post-production and computer-generated imagery. In addition, the platform has explained that the production design team worked with students of architecture and sculpture from Bucharest, and with local artists and sculptors.
