Volt Teknoloji, one of Turkey’s leading defense, aerospace and technology companies, has teamed up with Ghost Robotics, one of the world’s leading robot production companies. This partnership was introduced at the SAHA EXPO Defense, Aerospace Industry Fair. This cooperation between the two companies will help to create innovative, high-tech products that will benefit both the defense and civilian sectors. The products created through this partnership will help to improve the safety and efficiency of many different operations.
In the “Ghost Robotics Vision 60” promotion, one of the most advanced robot dogs in the world met the Turkish public for the first time.
The Ghost Robotics Vision 60 is a versatile and powerful robot that can climb stairs, move on all kinds of terrain, and travel on water, snow and ice. This makes it ideal for many military and civilian applications such as exploration, search and rescue. Some of the other features of the Ghost Robotics Vision 60 include:
The Standard walker can cover up to 9 kilometers in 2 hours and 45 minutes at a speed of 0.9 m/s. However, the walking speed can be increased to 1.2 m/s on different terrain conditions and with an integrated load. This makes the Standard walker perfect for a range of different applications. Its modular design also makes it easy to change sub-assemblies, and it has a payload capacity of 12 kilograms. With a weight of only 51 kilograms, the Standard walker is extremely portable.
“These robotic systems can do a lot of things a soldier can do”
In his statement to the AA correspondent, Volt Teknoloji Chairman of the Board Metin Sancak stated that as Saya Group, they have invested heavily in the pharmaceutical industry, and that they have the largest pharmaceutical production base in Turkey with Pharmactive pharmaceutical factories.
Sancak said that his company produces over 300 million boxes and that they export to 30 countries. He continued by saying that their R&D activities continue to be at an incredible scale. One of their group companies, Folkart, is a construction company that operates mostly in the Izmir region. Sancak claims that they have achieved beautiful projects by combining high technology with nature. The other company he mentioned is Volt Electric Motors and that they are Turkey’s leading company in electric motors. This year they are set to produce over 1 million electric motors.
Sancak stated that Volt Teknoloji is a company that started operating in their group in 2018 and made the following assessment:
At Volt Teknoloji, we’ve been working hard to bring the success we’ve achieved in the aerospace and defense industry to other sectors. We’re always keeping an eye on the latest trends in robotics, and we’re proud to be the exclusive distributor of Ghost Robotics in Turkey and several other countries in the region.
Our aim is to bring this technology to Turkey and to transfer the technology with the capacity to produce the product here. We also aim to develop loads for the robot that would be useful, such as camera systems, detector systems, gas and sensor systems, and weapon systems. By doing this, we would make the robot more functional and would allow the safe entry of the soldier into the environment.
– “We can add swimming ability to the dog by adding flippers to the robot dog’s feet”
Volt Technology’s General Manager Burçin Elbirlik stated that the weight of the robot dog is 51 kilograms and said, “Our robot can be transformed into the desired system by taking 12 kilograms of useful load. It can be used in defense, aerospace and industrial areas. We have the opportunity to use this product with the useful load on it in all of our preferred areas. Users, In any case where human life is at risk, they can send the robot beforehand to ensure the cleanliness of the area and check its suitability.” he said.
Noting that the robot dog also performs important functions in the field of defense, Elbirlik said:
In mined areas, the area can be controlled by robot dogs before our soldiers enter the area. This is especially useful in cave operations where the cave can be secured before troops are deployed. The robot dogs are also suitable for industrial use, particularly in mining activities. They can measure gas levels through sensors that can be installed on them, and prevent accidents with warnings.
Emphasizing that the robot dog can also be used in the sea, Elbirlik said, “We can add a swimming feature to the robot dog by adding a flipper to its feet. It can lift itself and continue to move even if it topples over on the mountain and rough terrain. The dog can move autonomously. At the point you program the dog, it can move within that area and return again. You can control it and you can program the dog to make the dog move.” he said.
