From the creators from the signal that alerts drivers that they are accessing a Low Emissions Zone (ZBE) and whose non-compliance is sanctioned from the end of March with 200 euros, the new DGT signs with information aimed at electric cars.
The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) releases four road signs. They are informative signs, hence their rectangular shape, and are intended to be a reflection of the changes that are already being seen in the market and on the roads where the presence of electric cars is increasing.

The new traffic signs
Traffic premieres three traffic signals. Its aim is for drivers to easily recognize the location of charging points for electric vehicles.
Depending on the location of the chargers, Traffic will use one of these three signals:
1. This signal indicates the situation of a dispenser or fuel service station with availability of electric recharging station.
2. This other sign will be the one used to warn of the location of a charging point
3. When a driver approaches a service station where it is possible to refuel fuel, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and recharge an electricyou will see this sign:
Pictogram for electric vehicles
In addition to the three signs that will be used to identify the location of recharging points, the DGT presents the pictograph that will accompany all those signs (prohibitions, obligations…) that are exclusive to electric vehicles.
“The electric vehicle pictogram will be used when it is necessary to indicate that the scope of the signaling refers to this type of vehicle,” explain those responsible for Traffic.
On highway and city
All these pictograms may be placed individually or collectively, on the service signs that citizens can find both on the road and in urban areas.
The instruction is already in force; but its application will be progressive as the signs are renewed due to their state of conservation.
