Audi wants to win in F1. After its many successes in the motor world, the German brand will enter in 2026 as a motorist in Sauberand with Andreas Seidl as the great boss of a team that aims to be champion. This has been said by Adam Baker, CEO of the brand in statements in ‘Ace’.
“We want to compete for wins in the third year. It’s a realistic goal.” He says.
Because they want to go all out: “F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport. Racing is in Audi’s DNA, and also here is a perfect platform to demonstrate everything we know how to do globally”.
“And more now with the variety of countries, which cover important markets for Audi. It is a challenge, but we have 42 months until the first race. It should be one of the earliest decisions for any manufacturer… and it also starts a new regulatory cycle,” says Baker.
That could be an advantage: “They change power units and chassis. They can be reset competitive advantages, and facilitates competitiveness for new builders”.
“New rules, innovative power units… It is Audi’s future strategy. F1 has also increased its popularity, and reduced costs, which makes it more attractive. Costs are limited, and long-term certainties are provided,” says the CEO of Audi.
