The Cheyenne appears in Mexico in 1971 (on a par with the United States), as the most luxurious version of the Chevrolet C10. However, while, in its country of origin, this name was discarded in 1988, in Mexico, the opposite happened, remaining a legend with deep roots to such a degree that it is the longest-lived model on sale in our country consecutively. And yes, Cheyenne, it is only used in Mexico, to refer to the most luxurious pickups from Chevrolet.
The one you have in front of your screen is the ZR2, the maximum expression of the Cheyenne in all history. It’s so majestic that everything in front of you literally jumps out of your way (even those smug Germans). But the best thing is that this imposing image is backed by high power and great off-road capacity.

You just have to remember that the 2022 Cheyenne ZR2 is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 capable of delivering 425 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. This power is managed by a 10- speed automatic transmission and the drive is 4X4 with differential lock. To this we must add the electronic traction selector and drive modes depending on the surface on which we intend to drive.
Climbing into the ZR2’s cockpit should be considered an ordeal, as the 11-inch ground clearance and lack of running boards make access difficult. Chevrolet could have resorted to electric steps, but, in the long run, on an off-road route, they would only get in the way and no, gentlemen, this truck is really designed for abuse.

At this point, I think the reasons why this pickup was chosen for our 2022 year-end special are now clear. But the best part is that this competitor to the Ford Lobo Raptor, is proudly made in Mexico for the whole worldWell at least for those who can afford to roll a 18-foot-long beast through its streets.
