South Korean automaker Kia has been working on one of its large SUV models, the EV9, for a long time. A new teaser video has been released before the introduction of the vehicle, which will share the E-GMP platform with the EV6, which is currently very popular around the world. Many details have been revealed with the video.
Along with the sharing made by Kia India, it has been announced that the new EV9 will be introduced at the Auto Expo to be held in New Delhi from January 12 to 15. Although the first demonstration of the vehicle was held in India, we do not yet know whether this is an official global launch.
In general, when we look at the video, we can say that the vehicle will appear quite similar to the concept car. The headlight group and stops, which look quite stylish, emphasize that the vehicle will be interesting. In addition to these, it can be understood from the video that the vehicle will be almost 5 meters long.
We expect the vehicle, which has a 20 cm longer wheelbase compared to its internal combustion brother Palisade, to offer a large living space at the rear. Due to the large dimensions of the vehicle, it is expected to have a 100 kWh battery instead of a 77.4 kWh battery like other E-GMP vehicles.
In this way, it is thought that the vehicle will offer a range of a little less than 500 km. We expect mass production of the vehicle to start towards the end of 2023. We anticipate that Kia will also offer affordable versions to make the vehicle more affordable.
