When a model is in the middle of its commercial life we used to see special editions that make it more attractive to the public. The same thing is happening to the Ford Puma, which was launched in 2020 and is already waiting for its 100% electric version by 2024. Until that happens, we will have to settle for examples like the Ford Puma Vivid Ruby Edition. It is completed by the top of the range thanks to some specific design details and truly comprehensive equipment.
The first thing is obvious, since its bodywork is stained with the exclusive color Beautiful Berry Red Metallicwhich the brand claims is an evolution of the previous Hot Magenta that they offered in other models. The characteristic of this tone is that when the light hits it, it offers the shine of a precious stone (with the ruby as a reference) and at night it seems a deeper red. On the other hand, there are some details in glossy black contrasting. We talk about the roof, the mirrors, the grill and some moldings. Also the 18 inch wheels that are specific and have a two-tone finish.
The same goes for the interior of the Ford Puma Vivid Ruby Edition, which sports a upholstery with decorative stitching in ruby and white contrasting seats, steering wheel and mats. All the technology of the model is available, including the Ford SYNC 3 system with the 8-inch touch screen and a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation. There is also no lack of full connectivity or the B&O sound system. In this specimen the sports suspension comes standard to give it an extra touch of character and can only be picked with some mechanics.
The Vivid Ruby Edition will only be available with the EcoBoost Hybrid versions, which are the ones that receive the ECO label thanks to microhybridization. This means that they carry the 1.0 EcoBoost three-cylinder with the 48 V system and that can be chosen with 125 or 155 CV of power, as well as with the manual gearbox or with the dual-clutch automatic transmission. The price of this edition will be quite high. has been announced from 37,900 euros in Germany, so we can expect similar rates on arrival in Spain, which is scheduled for spring 2023.
