November has ended with good news for the automotive sector, with double-digit growth in registrations. However, in the last three days, 36% of the 73,241 vehicles were registered, the equivalent of more than 26,000 units, according to MSI data for Unoauto, Sumauto’s specialized new vehicle portal.
This market acceleration shows a stock recoverysince the usual trend has always been to register between 30 and 40% of the units at the end of the month, but this trend had changed in recent months due to the lack of cars.
This “final sprint” of registrations occurred in all market channels. In the case of individuals, which account for half of the sales of the month, 32% of all of them were registered in the last three days. A percentage that also experienced the leasing channel.
A situation similar to that carried out by the business channel, where 4 out of 10 vehicles were registered between this Monday and yesterday. In the case of rent a car, the percentage in the last monthly push was even higher, with 43.7%.
Nevertheless, tactical registrations were the protagonists to give the greatest boost at the end of the month, with 57.6%. In fact, only yesterday, Wednesday, dealers self-registered 2,462 cars.
According to Ignacio García Rojí, spokesman for Unoauto, “one of the most notable changes that have occurred in recent months as a symptom of the lack of stock has been a more homogeneous registration rate, unlike the periods of normal stock where there is always an upturn in the final days, and in those upturns is where the tactical registrations are framed ”.
