New Renault Master: launch in Argentina, from $10,750,000

C.ith a few years behind the European model and even after more than a year of testing in Brazil -where it was presented in January-, Renault finally launched in Argentina the restyling of the Master, its large utility, widely accepted in our market. As we had anticipated at the time of its presentation in the neighboring country, it incorporates important modifications to its exterior design along with more technology inside and safety improvements.

Produced in the Brazilian plant in Sao José dos Pinhais, it maintains the well-known 2.3 dCi turbodiesel engine and is initially offered only in a van version, available for savings plans and special sales.

These are its main features:

The new:

It is the long-awaited restyling of the large utility of the French brand, which is aligned -in exterior design- with its peer from the Old Continent and incorporates more technology and safety equipment.

Starting with its design, the changes to its exterior are identical to those of the European model: the main modifications are observed in the front sector, with larger headlights with an internal C-shaped frame and the grille along with the larger logo. , accompanying the current design philosophy of the French brand. The bumper was also redesigned, with more marked and curved lines.

Renault MasterAlthough the brand did not publish images of its interior, the official statement for Argentina indicates that it incorporated a new multifunction steering wheel -similar to that of the Kangoo or the new Duster- that includes the controls for cruise control, a new instrument panel with TFT display 3.5” for the on-board computer (with functions such as consumption, average speed, autonomy and engine temperature). It also equips a 7” touch screen for the multimedia system, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which also adds a reversing camera. The diamond signature also highlights the multiple adjustments of the steering column (in height and depth) as well as those of the driver’s seat, providing a greater level of comfort.

Additionally, as we indicated in the first paragraph, the Master received an important safety upgrade: to the double front airbag and brakes with ABS/EBD/AFU, now it adds traction control, stability control, roll control, start assistant in slopes, Crosswind Stability Assist, Adaptive Load Control and Extended Grip Launch Assist, which provides increased traction when launching on slippery surfaces.

Versions:

Initially, a single version was announced, the L1H1 van, with a cargo volume of 8m3.

Comfort equipment:

Air conditioning, electric power steering, electric windows and mirrors, multifunction steering wheel with multiple adjustments, on-board computer, multimedia system with 7” touch screen compatible with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, backup camera and rear parking sensors.

Renault Master 2023 Safety equipment:

Dual airbags, ABS/EBD/AFU brakes, stability control, adaptive load control, hill start assist, roll mitigation system, trailer sway control, and crosswind assist.

For our market, it maintains the well-known 2.3 dCi turbodiesel engine (M9T, produced in the French Cleon plant) also used in the Alaskan, which in this case delivers 130 CV and is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It has chain distribution and maintenance intervals every 20,000 kilometers.
