Starting in 2023, Hyundai will only sell electric cars in Norway

The change towards the exclusive sale of electric cars in the Latin American market is going very slowly, it will take many years if not even a decade. On the other hand, in Europe it is already a reality, don’t you believe us? check the following.

What’s the matter?

Hyundai reveals that Starting January 1, 2023, it will only sell electric cars in Norway. This makes this country the first market in the world where Hyundai will only sell electrified units.

The Korean company made this decision given the good sales results it obtained with its electric cars. Between 2020 and 2022, it sold a total of 25,000 electric cars. This represents that 92% of the models sold are 100% electric.

It is also surprising that this percentage is so high, since it only sells two electrical products. The Hyundai Ioniq and the electric Kona.

In 2020, Hyundai committed to only selling electric cars as PHEVs in Norway, discontinuing the rest of its combustion models in the region.. Now for 2023, it goes a step forward, removing Tucson’s plug-in hybrid variants such as Santa Fe. The Korean brand did not specify whether it maintains the Nexo, which is powered by hydrogen, for sale in that country as a zero-emission car along with with the electric ones.

Hyundai will soon launch the newly unveiled electric Kona; Likewise, the debut of the Ioniq 7 SUV is expected soon. With this, it will expand its range of electric vehicles for other segments.
