Online configurators are a very useful tool for both brands and customers, since they can save a lot of time in visualizing how a factory customized vehicle looks like. This is also generally used by a lot of people (I include myself) to fantasize how a supercar would look to our liking, even though the salary sometimes doesn’t even allow buying an accessory.
But sometimes, online configurators play a trick on you. This happened to Chevrolet with its website, where the specifications and images of the next Corvette C8 E-Ray, the hybrid version, were leaked in the configurator of the supercar that until now was just rumors.
The vehicle was mistakenly online for a few minutes, but that was enough for fans to take screenshots and get relevant information about the coupe.

According to what could be seen, the E-Ray appears to use the same bodywork and flared front end as the Corvette Z06 albeit with body-color accents instead of some black parts found on the Z06.
On the other hand, there appears new “E-RAY” badge, which can be seen behind the side wings of the car. There are still no details on the specifications of the hybrid version, but for now you can see a new button in the cabin with the name “Regen on Demand” which suggests that the E-Ray will have adjustable levels of regenerative braking.

The Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray could also be seen in trials.
We don’t yet know what configuration to expect for the electric motors or their number. Rumors suggest the E-Ray would be all-wheel drive, with the LT2 V-8 driving the rear wheels and an electric motor driving the front. This would likely mean a significant increase in horsepower compared to the nearly 500 horsepower that the Corvette C8 has. It is even estimated that the power amounts to 605 HP.
Surely we will have more definitions as it gets closer its release date, scheduled for mid- 2023.
