Hydra Concept, the futuristic style motorcycle powered by hydrogen

The future of mobility must be sustainable or not, which is why more and more companies are betting on developing electrical designs and there are even those who are opting for other more advanced green solutions such as hydrogen fuel cellalthough this option, which is presented as a true revolution, is still in a very little advanced phase.

The designers Anton Brousseau, Andre Taylforth, and Anton Guzhov from the prestigious international studio Kiska Design, have presented the Hydra Concept, a high-performance electric motorcycle powered by hydrogen. It is a digital recreation in which the Blender 3D design software has been used, capable of generating virtual reality images, visual effects and 3D modeling with an almost real visual quality. Its creators claim that their fundamental idea is applicable to a wide range of configurations.

With a futuristic and somewhat robotic look, the Hydra Concept features a square shape at the front where the hydrogen cells are located, while the engine is located at the rear, under the seat. The operation of this model would be similar to that of the electric hydrogen cars that have already been launched on the market, such as the Toyota Mirai or the Hyundai Nexo. Thus, the motor that drives the rear wheel is electric. For it to work, hydrogen stored in a pressurized tank is used to power a fuel cell that generates electricity from oxygen in the air.

This option has some advantages such as increased range and refueling speed that hydrogen provides, although it also brings with it some drawbacks since not enough progress has yet been made in this field. This process requires a large amount of energy and also the hydrogen must be green, so it must be produced with renewable energy.

This is not the first bike of this type that has been introduced recently. For example, segways made his prototype come true Apex H2 with which it intends to develop a production model before the end of 2023. In addition, it is known that companies such as Yamaha and Kawasaki They are investing in this type of technology, so it is not surprising that viable prototypes can be seen in the not too distant future.
