Logic and common sense finally reigned. The FIA has removed Fernando Alonso’s 30-second penalty that he suffered after the race in Austinthus giving him back the seventh place he achieved after his incredible accident with Lance Stroll.
However, in the official document of the FIA where they notify that the sanction is withdrawn from Alonsothere is a detail that has gone unnoticed, being something fun as well as surreal.
Alpine used the definition of the word ‘impossible’ from an Oxford dictionary to explain that Haas had no impediment to submit your complaint within the established period.
At point 14b, the following can be read: “The word ‘impossible’ sets a very ‘high’ bar: the oxford dictionary defines it as something that cannot happen or be achieved and that, in this case, there was no nothing to prevent Haas from filing the protest within the 30-minute time limit“.
