More important than anything else for Chinese customers is rear headroom!
Mercedes’ EQ Series includes an electric version of every model in the brand’s product range. However, it seems that the sales of the Mercedes EQ Series are not very encouraging in the Chinese market. The Stuttgart-based automaker is cutting prices to be more competitive in the Chinese market and to stimulate sales.
Many of the automakers in the Chinese market now have difficulty competing with domestic automakers in the Chinese domestic market. The cars produced in the Chinese domestic market are both quite cheap and really competitive.

Mercedes-Benz, on the other hand, announced the price of the model in China as 67 thousand dollars, after first reducing the price of the EQE model by 7 thousand dollars. EQS, which is described as the flagship of the EQ Series and dazzling with its technological features, has a price tag of 134 thousand dollars after receiving a discount of 33 thousand dollars in China.
EQA, EQB, EQC SUV models, which are other members of the EQ family, are not discounted.

According to Bloomberg, the sales figures of the EQS model in China are well below expectations. In fact, the report, which explains that only 100 EQS was delivered in some months, contains another interesting detail.
As we have just mentioned, the EQS is the pinnacle of technology, an automobile. With its range, design and interior elements, it is the kind of car that everyone would like to own. However, the reason for the low sales in China may be the rear headroom of the car.

We have to say that the rear headroom of the car is somewhat limited due to the fact that the rear roofline is too inclined. This is a really important factor for Chinese customers who own premium vehicles but travel in the backseat of their vehicles.
