This particular RS Cosworth was owned for the last 24 years by Dieter Hahne, former manager of Ford’s Special Vehicle Engineering department. Precisely, Hahne was a key player in the development of the famous RS Cosworth.
The history of this unit is curious. When series production of the Cosworth ended in January 1996 at the Karmann factory in Rheine, Germany, Ford was still had enough parts left for two more vehicles. One belonged to Wilhelm Karmann Jr., the then president of the company of the same name, while the other ended up in the hands of the aforementioned Hahne, who has kept it in his garage for almost two and a half decades.
Now, after 24 yearsHahne has decided that it was finally time to put the car up for auction for someone else to enjoy.
Finished in the original Ford color of Auralis Blue, the RS Cosworth has a black leather interior with Recaro seats. It comes complete with original 16-inch alloy wheels with Continental SportContact2 tires. It also has a modified 1994 Escort hood and grille, an original item, which was installed because the 1991 hood was no longer available.
