Although the Japanese manufacturer Toyota has a great deal of expertise and experience in hybrid cars, it took some time to get into the business of producing all-electric cars. Not because they couldn’t make this electric car, of course, but they needed time to watch the market and analyze what customers needed.

The Japanese automaker recently introduced one of its fully electric cars, the BZ4X. With its technological and futuristic design, the BZ4X was appreciated by Toyota lovers.

According to the news published by Carscoops, the BZ4X may have disappointed some users because its range is 134 miles (215 km). FDM magazine published in Denmark has tried both two-wheel and all-wheel drive versions of Toyota’s newest electric model, the BZ4X. However, when it comes to range, the BZ4X may be out of class.
The range of the model, which has two-wheel drive, was measured as approximately 504 km according to the WLTP cycle. However, the front-wheel drive version of the Toyota BZ4X could only travel 246 km. This shows that it can offer less than 49 percent of the range calculated according to WLTP data.

When we come to the all-wheel drive version, we see that the calculated range is 461 km according to the WLTP cycle. However, the BZ4X model with all-wheel drive could only travel 215 km. In practice, this means that the car is able to deliver less than 47 percent of the promised range.
Meanwhile, Toyota, in its statements to CarScoops, stated that it has started a study on the subject.
