The vehicle will make its debut in the Chinese market for now.
American automaker Buick, which is part of General Motors, said in a statement that it will launch its first electric vehicle in China later this year. Deliveries of the electric vehicle will begin in the first half of 2023, and the vehicle will be built on GM’s Ultium platform.
The company plans to launch its first all-electric car in the US market in 2024. Cesar Toledo, General Manager of SAIC-GM Buick Sales and Marketing, said in a statement:

Buick also stated in its statements that the vehicle will have a highly advanced battery technology. Although no official visual of the vehicle has been shared so far, we learned from the records of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technologies of China that the name of the vehicle is Buick Electra E5 and that it has a single- engine unit that can produce 241 horsepower.
Considering that a similar version of the vehicle has been displayed in Michigan in the past months, we can say that preparations have begun for the USA. Electra E5, one of the 5 electric vehicles expected to be introduced in China by 2025, will have an advanced driving aid called Super Cruise and a specially produced Virtual Cockpit System.

The company, which is currently increasing its investments in the country, aims to reach more customers by collaborating with charging stations and opening showrooms in a market like China where there is a lot of competition.
