One of the good things left by the large automotive consortiums is the possibility of sharing platforms that facilitate, in turn, being able to share mechanics and racks. Now It is Jeep who is considering the possibility of updating the mechanics of the Jeep Compass, prior to the generational leap.
The current normally aspirated 2.4-liter engine with 177 hp and 172 lb-ft gives way to a watered-down version of the 2.0L of the upcoming Dodge Hornet that would deliver a healthy 200 Hp and 221 Lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8- speed automatic transmission, now with rear-wheel drive.

The rest of the Jeep Compass configuration would maintain the same features and components according to its latest update, so 17” wheels, headlights, taillights and fascias would remain unchanged, adding only a new occupancy alert for the rear seat (be careful here, mother readers). The Jeep Compass configured with the new turbo engine will be ready for sale during the first quarter of 2023 and even the prices that are being considered start at $31,590 dollars.
In the meantime, The Dodge Hornet, the model from which the mentioned engine is taken, will enjoy a “hotter” setting that will give it 270 Hp and 295 Lb-ft of torquewhich in turn would be shared with the Alfa Romeo Tonale, however, we know that for Tonale, that 2.0 L Twin-Scroll Turbo will deliver (at least in Mexico) 256 Hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
