Farewell weekend in Abu Dhabi. Sebastian Vettel, four times Formula 1 champion with Red Bull, will leave the competition. This Thursday he gave his last press conference, in which he talked about his feelings and reviewed his entire career.
He chose the most talented driver he has seen on the grid. And he surprised with the choice of him because he is not one of those who are currently active as Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton or Fernando Alonso. chose Kimi raikkonen.
“Kimi is the most talented driver I’ve ever met. His raw pace is by far the best of him, and it doesn’t just show in Formula 1 cars,” says the German driver.
And he explains his choice: “If there were a category in which the drivers had to drive a different vehicle every day, Kimi would win everyone after ten days. It doesn’t take long to get used to a car or to adapt to its characteristics.”
Colleagues at Ferrari
Vettel remembers his time at Ferrari with Kimi with nostalgia: “I think that with him I had the better relationship of my teammates because he was very direct.
“We never argued, not even when we were in an accident, we talked about what had happened, who of the two was wrong, and we even laughed,” details the four-time champion of the Great Circus.
That character of Raikkonen made it all easier: “I watch at my eyes, while with others I had the feeling that they had offered their hand in vain for a handshake, but their minds were elsewhere. Kimi is an exceptional person.”
