On Friday the Italian press dropped the bombshell: Mattia Binotto to resign as Ferrari boss because of the bad environment within the team, especially with John Elkann, president of the ‘Scuderia’.
The name that sounded loudest to replace him was that of Frederic Vasseur, boss of Alfa Romeobut now that of an old acquaintance sounds loud: Ross Brown.
Though Ferrari denied those rumors saying that “they were unfounded”, the reality is that after the end of the season they have become stronger than ever. Now the newspaper ‘La Stampa’ affirms that Ross Brawn is being linked with Ferrari to replace Binotto.
Brawn was already at the ‘Scuderia’ between 1997 and 2006in the golden age of Michael Schumacher with the Italian team, in which he won five consecutive world championships. He is currently the CEO of the Formula 1.
Even so, Vasseur would remain the favorite. The currently head of alfa romeo would like to set the first and second pilot roleswhich surely it would not sit well with Carlos Sainzwho has already complained about it this season.
And it is that in the year that he was charles leclerc in Sauber, coincided with Vasseurwhich would give it an advantage over Sainz to be first pilot.
