Ford proudly presents the best version of the GT we’ve ever seen. There are several retro-style special editions of the brand’s iconic supercar, with the new Mk IV joining them. The race car with the same name as the 1967 car returns, this time as the last track-only GT.
Paying homage to its Le Mans award-winning roots, production will be limited to just 67 units, all handcrafted at Multimatic’s facility in Markham, Ontario.
This beauty, which you can examine from the photos above, offers more than 800 horsepower. Ford talks about a “unique twin-turbo EcoBoost engine” without going into any details about the setup being based on the 3.5-liter V6 we saw in the GT LM Edition. The new GT Mk IV expands the wheelbase to improve handling and comes with a different chassis. When you examine it, you will see that the simplified headlights and side mirrors bid farewell to the island. Besides, the vehicle’s much wider body and rear mega wing says “I am here” here and there.
As we come to the end of our news, we would like to point out that those who want to buy this supercar must go through a customer application process and sacrifice $1.7 million. Mavi Oval will select customers to whom it will sell the vehicle in the first quarter of next year, and will start deliveries by the end of spring.
