There are several Italian designers who deserve to be among the best of all time. One of them is undoubtedly Sergio Pininfarina, son of the legendary Giovanni Battista «Pinin» Farina and promoter of the family firm in recent times. They have made cars through Carrozzeria Pininfarina, but they have also worked outside of four wheels, as a good design studio. In fact, the last thing that comes to us is a iPhone case inspired by the Ferrari 512S Moduloa prototype that was his work.
The truth is that the 512S Modulo Concept is a unique vehicle and its design came from the pencil of Paolo Martin, a Pininfarina designer back in the 70s. It stood out for its distinctive wedge design of the sports cars of the time or because of its height of just 93.5 centimeters, which made it necessary to access the interior through a dome. It was recently restored and commissioned by James Glickenhaus, although its lines continue to inspire other products like the one we show today.
Pininfarina has collaborated with Inkar, a specialist in smartphone cases, to create this uniquely designed iPhone 13 Pro and 14 Pro case. They have taken two years of development and are completely faithful to the Ferrari 512S Modulo in various details. It is the work of Pininfarina designer Paolo Lugaro, who has used resources such as the distinctive curves of the car, as well as the 24 hole engine cover. Accuracy is full and they have been checked within 0.1mm, also much customization is accepted.
Because these Pininfarina and Inkar cases are available in five colorsThey have two types of leather for the slow zone and ten types for the lower zone. That part is also available in natural wood, carbon fiber or aluminum. Though only 99 units will be made for a handful of lucky customers. The five most exclusive will be able to wear the colors of the original Ferrari 512 S Modulo Concept with a silver finish and a red stripe running down the sides. It goes without saying that they are handmade and have the serial number engraved to prove their exclusivity.
