Tesla’s former head of global manufacturing, John Vo, is developing an interesting project, but not exactly for use on asphalt but on the sea.

What’s the matter?
The firm Blue Innovations Group (BIG), owned by Vo who has all the knowledge and experience that he obtained in Tesla, is developing the R30 boat, which will be fully electric.
What features does the BIG R30 have?
- The hull is made entirely of aluminium.
- The battery pack will be housed in the boat frame.

- It will use lithium-iron phosphate batteries, giving it a capacity of 221 kWh.
- The batteries will be liquid cooled.
- Two electric motors will drive the boat with a power of 800 Hp.
- Based on the renderings provided by the company, it can be seen that:
- It will have folding solar panels that will provide 2.7 kW.

- The hull of the boat is painted in blue color, it has a fixed deck, a windshield and side glass.
- It has a small cooking area just behind the cabin, as well as seats and a table.
- It has a wooden floor and a small bed for sunbathing, located in front of the cabin.
The cabin certainly takes inspiration from some Tesla production models. There are two huge screens mounted on a console, similar to what is seen in the Model 3.
BIG will show a prototype of the R30 at CES next year. If all goes well with the following prototypes, it will start delivering the units in the second quarter of 2024.
It is estimated that its selling price is $300,000. Nothing cheap of course.
