Although in Spain it does not finish standing out in the list of best-selling electric vehicles, the zero-emission Opel Mokka is in very good health in other European territories such as Germany, where it has been the best-selling electric vehicle in the B-SUV segment for the past two years. last months. Now the Opel Mokka-e, renamed as Opel Mokka Electric, improves its technical aspect with a more capable battery (it grows from 50 to 54 kWh) to provide a maximum of 406 km of autonomy (about 80 km more than before), according to the WLTP cycle. As if that were not enough, it also increases its power from the previous 136 CV to the current 156 CV.

As in most electric cars, said battery is placed under the body so as not to lose space in the passenger compartment or in the trunk, which also allows the Mokka to reduce its center of gravity and gain stability. The benefits are summarized in that it is capable of reaching the 150 km/h top speed -electronically limited- and complete 0 to 100 km/h in less than 10 seconds.
Of course, the different driving modes (Eco, Normal and Sport) when it comes to limiting the performance or asking for the maximum revenue from the electric motor. The user can also activate regeneration mode B to convert the vehicle’s own inertia into electricity and thus take advantage of the greatest possible range.

The new 54 kWh battery can be charged to 80% of its capacity in about 30 minutes if we have a 100 kW charging point with direct current within our reach. In any case, it will be normal to resort to charging with three-phase alternating current, thanks to the 11 kW cable that comes standardeither through a Wallbox or with a cable for a domestic outlet.
