At 92 years old and after leading the Formula 1 with an iron fist for more than four decades, ‘Lucky!’, a documentary series produced by ‘DAZN’, reviews the long history of Bernie Ecclestone.
In the first chapter, through various interviews, the former F1 boss recounts his beginnings in the ‘Great Circus’ and how he meddled in its atmosphere.
When he was young, lost several friends on the asphaltwhich made him distance himself from single-seaters and focus on his business: the sale of vehicles.
It was there that, one day, Ecclestone looked death in the eye.. A man threatened him with a gun to get him to write him a check and, with cold blood, the British remained static and talked with him to persuade him.
“I once bought a car from a man and it turns out it was financed, he didn’t own it, so I voided his check. The man introduced himself to me and said he wanted me to write him a check and he pulled a gun out from under his sweater“, he explains in the aforementioned documentary series.
“I told him that I did not understand what he intended to do with her since If he shot me, I wouldn’t be able to cash the check. We talked, we worked it out and then he became a good customer,” he adds.
