Next February 13, Aston Martinby the hand of Fernando Alonso and Lance Strollwill present the more than expected AMR23 at its headquarters in Silverstone (Great Britain).
It will be then when we know some more details (not all) about a car that has raised a lot of expectations in the paddock because it will be the first ‘son’ of the ‘gurus’ signed from Red Bull and Mercedes.
Dan Fallows Y Eric Blandinformer heads of aerodynamics at Red Bull and Mercedes respectively, have been working on the 2023 car for more than half a year, including innovations that could not be brought to the track in 2022 due to budget constraints.
This is how he explained it Tom McCulloughchief performance officer Aston Martinnoting that “the cost cap has really been an interesting part of that situation this year.”
That is why, in addition to the novelties of the second year of regulations, they will bring some ‘ace up their sleeve’ from this past season.
“I know for a fact that, on our team, and I’m sure on many of the other teams as well, we have not been able to update, develop, change the car during the season as much as we have done in the past”, he explained in statements to ‘GPFans’.
“When I look at the wind tunnel model of our own car, it’s quite different from what we have now. In recent years, we would have brought more of that to the track sooner. And I think other teams will be in a similar situation,” he added.
“I think that the cost limit has caused the teams to have been working on ideas that they have not been able to bring to the track and that people have not seen. And therefore there will still be some differences (in the cars) at the beginning of next year.”
