The NomadPro Canter is a concept mobile office and backcountry camping space on top of a large Fuso truck bed.
At the beginning of 2021, Nissan showed a curious Conceptualization of a van as a sliding mobile office which should help people who live far from home to get out into nature and work online from there.
Now Fuso has perfected this idea with the NomadPro Canter, a mobile office concept on a large cargo platform that makes nature part of your home. Unlike the Nissan concept, the NomadPro is a more camper concept, equipped with sleeping bunk beds, kitchenette and showersthat is, everything you need for business trips lasting several days… or trips with the option of working remotely.
Bed, kitchen and shower, part of the equipment
Fuso explains that the growing popularity of remote work or work from home, multiplied by the pandemic, was the driving force behind the design of NomadPro, a concept that is conceived as a temporary escape from the inconveniences of living and working in a boring spacesuch as lack of physical activity, stress and mental fatigue that can result from the lack of boundaries between home and work.
The NomadPro is based on a Fuso Canter 2WDso it is not designed for extreme trips like the Canter 4×4 platform, which is sometimes used to build expedition vehicles, although it moves with total ease through country areas or campsites.
In these environments, the NomadPro shows off its virtues. It has a specific sliding box that allows, by pressing a button, one of the side panels lifts up together with the roof to form a canopy over the passenger compartment. At the same time, the bottom of the side panel slides down to form a complete cover. Such a design, in general, practically erases an entire wall of the office/ car space, immersing the occupants in the midst of the surrounding nature.
Inside the Fuso, functional space for work and relaxation are combined with Japanese motifs of health and wellness. At the center of the composition is the emobile workstation, which can easily be used as a dining room. Includes a front bench, pull-out table/chair, dual-monitor system, and pull-out bench.
Fuso has also installed a folding bed in the spirit of a motorhome and at night it takes up almost all the space in the office. The desk and rear bench slide out, computer screens can be hidden behind cabinet doors, and the fold-down double bed slides out from under a front-mounted bench. In this way, the mobile office becomes a bedroom. The seating area has a built-in nightstand and warm, relaxing lighting. The computer monitor can be used as a television.
