Will there finally be a new team in Formula 1? It is the desire of Andretti. A wish that has been in the works for some time, but has not yet been confirmed. Back in February, the FIA received the request for the creation of a new team and now it would be “very close” to being achieved.
Speaking to ‘Indy Star’, michael andretti has spoken about this possibility: “We hope that will be the case in the next two weeks. It would surely be a nice Christmas present.”
“We are working every day and I still have confidence. We are getting close. We have not yet obtained the go-ahead, but we are getting very close,” says the man who could be the owner of the eleventh team on the Formula 1 grid.
“We want to do something that’s never been done before. We want to be in all forms of racing, from Le Mans to Monaco, Indy 500 and Daytona 500“, he explains in the aforementioned medium.
For weeks they have maintained that “they work hard” to achieve it: “We are still working hard. I think we have made great progress in the last few months and we are not going to give up.”
The reality is that Andretti has (almost) everything to land in the competition. From facilities to money, a lot of money. In addition, there is talk of a possible agreement with Renault. Now the question is when this arrival could be confirmed. The change of rules in 2026 could be the key date.
