With the successful debut of the Tata Motors Tiago EV earlier this year in September, the company is now gearing up to launch the electric version of its popular Punch micro-SUV. The agenda is clear: Tata Motors is looking to maintain its dominant position in the electric vehicle (EV) space. With the addition of the Punch EV in 2023, Tata Motors will have a total of 4 EVs in its portfolio, each catering to a different segment. This gives the company an advantageous edge over emerging rivals, giving customers more options to choose from.
Tata Punch EV variants
Punch EV is set to join the ranks of Tata’s electric vehicles, slotted between the Tigor EV and Nexon EV Prime. Featuring the trusted Ziptron powertrain, Punch EV will come with two battery pack options: a medium range and a long range. The medium range model is expected to have similar power output and range to the Tigor EV, which is powered by a 26-kWh battery pack and a 75 PS electric motor, delivering 170 Nm of torque. With Punch EV, Tata offers a variety of electric vehicles that fit a range of needs and budgets.

Punch EV features, specs
The upcoming Punch EV from Tata Motors will feature an updated exterior that embraces the signature styling of other Tata electric cars. To add a personal touch, exclusive colour options will be available. The interior will have a lighter colour theme and signature blue highlights on the AC vents, as well as blue stitching on the seats. Top-spec variants will feature leatherette upholstery for extra comfort.
You can also expect to see a range of tech features, such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, push button start/stop, cruise control, electric ORVM with auto fold, full digital instrument console, and a range of connectivity features including car location tracking, remote geo fencing, real time charging status, remote vehicle health diagnostics and charging station locator. Safety is also ensured, with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system, camera-based reverse park assist with dynamic guideways, and follow-me-home headlamps.
