As you know, there is a group of companies formed by Renault – Nissan and Mitsubishi brands. This group of companies again takes its name from the above brands. You can think of it like Stellantis. In this group of brands, which also includes brands such as Infiniti, Alpine and Dacia, a new company order will be established in the coming days.
Renault and Nissan will hold a meeting in London early next month to hold some meetings to restructure the conglomerate. Okay but why?
The first and most important reason is that the French brand has more say in the Renault and Nissan partnership. Renault owns 43 percent of Nissan, while Nissan owns only 15 percent of the French brand. This makes the French Renaut more dominant in the group of companies.
And of course, there is the electric vehicle business. Renault thinks the Japanese manufacturer should invest in electric vehicle projects codenamed “Ampere”. Due to such issues, a tight negotiation with the representatives of the two manufacturers will take place in the coming months.
According to the news in Automotive News Europe, Mitsubishi Motors plans to remain a junior member of the group of companies. Recently, we told you about a company founded by Renault and Geely. This company planned to manufacture hybrid and internal combustion units and supply them to other manufacturers.
It is a matter of curiosity whether these issues will be addressed in the meetings to be held by Renault and Nissan. Mitsubishi Motors, on the other hand, will decide whether to participate in the “Ampere” project after the meeting between these two brands.
