A PlayStation 5 in your car? Sony hints that its future models made with Honda could incorporate it.
Sony and Honda announced a joint venture earlier this year that will allow them to produce battery-powered electric vehicles and a range of specialized mobility services.
The joint venture, known as Sony Honda Mobility, plans to launch its North American-made cars in 2025, and now there’s the possibility of a new appeal: could include PlayStation 5 consoles inside.

“Sony has entertainment content, services and technologies that move people. We are adapting these assets to mobilityand this is our strong point against Tesla”, explained the senior vice president in charge of Sony’s AI robotics business, Izumi Kawanishi, in a recent interview with the Financial Times.
Kawanishi has pointed out that its rival and market leader in electric vehicles, Tesla, “does not offer any content services”, which gives Sony a potential advantage in the electric vehicle sector with its “technologically possible” implementation of the PlayStation 5.
The general director of Sony Honda Mobility, Yasuhide Mizuno, had previously pointed out that the future hardware of the company’s cars “it will adapt to the entertainment and the network that we want to offer”. The Financial Times also states that these new models, scheduled for launch in 2025, will make entertainment content part of the production process.
