From Indonesia, Honda takes the veil off the WR-Vone of the SUVs that the brand had yet to launch.

As we have been seeing this year, Honda has made a huge advance in terms of SUVs. We still wait for driverbut the new ones have already been presented BR-V, CR-V, HR-V Y ZR-V, besides the electric Prologue. This WR-V will be the entry point to the range and we will surely see it being deployed in other markets, such as ours.
Honda WR-V 2023: dimensions and design
.jpg)
- Length: 4,060mm
- Width: 1,780mm
- Tall: 1,608mm
- Distance between axis: 2,485mm
- Clearance: 220mm
- Trunk: 380L
Inspired by the RS Concept SUV, the WR-V, of course, is a more decaffeinated and grounded version of the model. There are several elements that are preserved, such as the silhouette with the darkened A post or the trim of the rear windows. It’s like seeing the Honda HR-V, but miniaturized.
What was not retained, which is a pity, is the front grille, with larger and conventionally styled spotlights, as well as the grille with chrome elements, instead of the prototype’s faded and frameless grille. The same can be said for the rear lamps, separate and with an L design, instead of the LED assembly of the prototype.
Something that was added and appreciated is the hidden handle for the rear doors, which gives it a sportier touch.
Relative to its rivals in the Toyota Group, it is 5mm shorter but 70mm wider. And next to the previous WR-V, it is larger in almost all dimensions, except for the wheelbase, with 2.49 meters versus 2.56 meters in the model that says goodbye. The trunk does gain 20 liters, which is very good.
Honda WR-V 2023: interior and equipment
.jpg)
Inside, the WR-V retains the ergonomics of its predecessor, with central air vents in a high position, the multimedia system parallel to the instrument panel and the climate control in a lower module, despite the fact that the dashboard is straighter and less inclined than in the previous model. In short, it’s closer to the interior of the previous WR-V than the City (or Fit), which is also noticeable when looking at the round-button steering wheel.
The photos show the finishes for the RS model which is the most equipped, with lots of red stitching, leatherette upholstery and bright accents for a sportier, more luxurious look.
The brand offers two levels of equipment. Model E is the basic one and includes:
- halogen spotlights
- LED fog lights
- Multi-angle reverse camera and reverse sensor
- Smart key with remote start and interior button
- on-board computer
- digital air conditioning
- Multimedia system with 7″ screen, four speakers and support for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto
The RS model incorporates:
- Full LED lighting with DRL bulbs, automatic ignition and sequential turn signals
- Automatic folding mirrors
- air conditioner
- Support for Lanewatch camera in multimedia system and six speakers
- Instrument panel with 4.2 TFT screen
- Mixed upholstery with eco-leather
- Leather steering wheel
- keyless access
Honda WR-V 2023: safety
.jpg)
As for safety, the basics such as ABS, ESP (VSA in Honda language) and ISOFIX anchorages are standard. Depending on the version, four or six airbags can be fitted.
It is striking that it only offers four three-point belts and a central two-point belt, which by current standards leaves the middle square unused.
On the other hand, the RS model will equip a driving assistance package (ADAS) that are part of the Honda Sensing program. These include:
- Warning and automatic emergency braking to mitigate impacts (CMBS)
- Lane Keeping (RDM)
- Rail Centering (LKAS)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Leading Car Start Alert (LCDN)
- Automatic High Beams (AHB)
Honda WR-V 2023: powertrain and marketing

The powertrain is shared with the City. We are talking about a 1.5 DOHC i-VTEC aspirated with 120 Hp and 107 Lb-ft of torque, associated with an automatic CVT box.
To distinguish the versions, the RS model has roof bars, a chrome grille and 17-inch two-tone wheels, as well as a black roof option when you choose the color red.
Would you like Honda to bring it to Mexico?
