Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has not closed the doors to the arrival of an eleventh team in the future in F1… but not just anyone. That new brand that arrived it would have to be a super team and it would have to contribute something to the competition.
Some names like Andretti either porsche have sounded, especially the second. In September it was known that the German brand and Red Bull did not reach an agreement what for porsche came from the hand of the Austrians to Formula 1, so they have to find other ways.
Those other options would be that Porsche will start from scratch your Formula 1 project or negotiate with williams. Talking with the British team would be the most feasible, since starting from scratch would imply a huge investment. Also, Williams I could welcome a general renovation since they have been stagnant for several seasons in a row.
“The first thing to consider is whether the new team brings additional value to the Championship. If so, we are going to discuss it internally and see if that ends up leading to a real potential new entry that increases the value of the Championship”, assures Domenicali in statements collected by ‘SoyMotor’.
“It is not a problem to have one more team in the Championship. There is a lot of interest in it, but only if it allows us to have better races. We’ll see. At the moment, we monitor the situation. If an amazing team wants to discuss your entry, we’re willing to talk. But for now this is not the situation,” he adds.
These types of statements are the ones that indicate that Domenicali wants a big brand behind like porsche and what leaves Andretti in a bad place It would be from 2026 when more than 10 teams could be seen in a Grand Prix.
