The opposition leader has pointed out that the current Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE) is a failure.
Within the framework of the second edition of eXpo Ganvam, the annual congress of the National Association of Vehicle Sellers and Repairers (GANVAM), the president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has called for a new Automotive PERTE that takes into account the sales and repair sector and that is that, according to the opposition leader, the current one has been “a failure, since 70% of the aid is not awarded”. In this sense, he recalled that Ganvam had already gone to the European Parliament to warn of the mismanagement of the European Funds that the Government was doing.
“Ganvam months ago warned of the mismanagement of PERTE and warned that excluding the vast majority of the automotive sector from aid was a mistake”, highlighted the president of the Popular Party in his speech, in which he also assured that PERTE “was born badly”, by leaving out the sales and repair sector, which “was a mistake”.
And it is that, as pointed out by the president of Ganvam, Raúl Palacios, in his speech during the event “Public Administrations must guarantee a sufficient flow of resources to support the transformation of the 42,000 SMEs and 35,000 self-employed in the sale and repair of vehicles that have currently been excluded by the Government from the distribution of European aid”. In addition, Palacios has taken the opportunity to request the new call for PERTE that Feijóo claimed not only take distribution into account, but also support its transformation. For his part, the president of the PP has highlighted that, precisely because of its capillarity and volume, “The survival of distribution is essential for the automotive industry”.

And it is that, at a time of sectoral transformation such as the one that the automotive sector is experiencing, Ganvam wanted to take advantage of its annual event, which has coincided with the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the employer, to reinforce its responsibility to accompany and support all companies of the sector in this modernization process. “We are transforming ourselves into a knowledge organization that allows us to be the support network and the guide for companies in the sector in this digital and ecological transformation”, pointed out the president of the employers’ association.
an orderly transition
In this sense, Feijóo has also emphasized the need to carry out in the automotive sector “an orderly transition”, which not only focuses on the electric vehiclebut take into account the rest of the propulsion alternatives.
For the president of the PP, “we are focusing on promoting the electric vehicle instead of removing vehicles over ten and twelve years old from circulation, which are the ones that really pollute.” In addition, Feijóo has had an impact on the difficulties when acquiring an electric vehicle, both due to the necessary financial outlay and the lack of infrastructure.
“Not all citizens have the necessary budget to undertake the necessary investment to acquire an electric vehicle. In addition, the lack of charging points also slows down when it comes to promoting this type of mobility, ”said the opposition leader, who concluded his intervention by asking the Government to listen to the distribution sector.
