With the Genesis X Convertible, Hyundai’s luxury brand gives us an idea of what a 4-seater electric convertible could be.
Korean luxury car manufacturer Genesis, owned by Hyundai, has introduced the X Convertible, a spectacular electric convertible that completes the trilogy of battery-powered prototypes together with the Genesis X Concept and the X Speedium Coupe concept.
precisely, the X Convertible It shares its architecture, electric powertrain, and much of its aesthetics and design with the two aforementioned concepts.
It has no signs of being mass-produced
It’s about a four seater vehicle electric with a drop-down roof configuration. It commands attention with its elongated body full of subtle curves and an arched beltline that ends with a slight rake toward the rear of the X Convertible.
At the rear, there is a subtle spoiler in a dovetail shape that blends into the trunk lid and integrates a tall, notched center brake light just above the dual taillights.
It is necessary to highlight the cockpit-style dashboard design, which flows into a wraparound center console with an integrated touchscreen that hugs the driver’s seat. In front there is a digital instrument cluster.
The interior is finished in Gina Navy and Dancheong Orange leather, matching the recycled wool fabrics. There is a hardtop, but it is folded up and hidden and the top uses transparent panels that try to create the feeling of driving in the open aireven when the rain or the cold do not allow it.

Like previous X Concepts, the Genesis X Convertible is, for now, just a design exercise which serves as a preview of what we can expect from the future design of Genesis electric vehicles. Of course, it is not known, for the moment, the characteristics of power or autonomy of electrical mechanics.
