American automaker Chevrolet is among the companies that give importance to electric cars. Bolt EV, which has been with us for a long time, is among the popular vehicles of the company. According to recent reports, the brand is voluntarily recalling its vehicles for some parts to be fixed and fitted.

General Motors is voluntarily recalling 111,242 Bolt EVs, according to information provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Judging by the documentation, the problem stems from the design of the Chevrolet Bolt EV’s seat belt pretensioners, which could open during an accident and cause a fire near the B-pillar area.

The report stated the following regarding the fire: “In some collisions that cause the front seat belt pretensioners to deploy, smoke from the deployed pretensioner can ignite fibers in the floor carpet near the B-pillar.”

In this context, GM will call its vehicles to dealers and provide free repair. According to reports by the brand, the affected vehicles were manufactured between July 26, 2016 and October 25, 2022. The Chevrolet Bolt EUV models are not affected by this voluntary safety recall, as a different design is used. Previously, Bolt EV and Bolt EUV models were recalled due to fire risk.
