Chery is about to unveil a new SUV in its already extensive portfolio of models. Known internally as the T26, it will most likely end up being called the Tiggo 9, which has already been spied with and without camouflage in some road tests in China.
This Chery Tiggo 9 aims to offer a new set of details and technologies that until now we had not seen in the Tiggo family and that even make us think that, if Exeed does not evolve quickly, both brands will end up stepping on each other’s tails.
About the Chery Tiggo 9, it is said that it will be raised on a new platform called T2X, which will replace the T1X and which is based on what until now was going to be a unique platform for Exeed, the M3X. And given its sheer size (4.8 meters long), we wouldn’t be surprised if this Tiggo 9 is actually an Exeed in disguise, sort of like a TXL or a shorter VX. We could even mention the future AtlantiX in development, from which it could also inherit some things. Its design is somewhat derivative, with a hexagonal grille reminiscent of Audi and a D-stem that is a Range Rover quote.
There are also images of the interior and they again confirm the fact that Chery is on Exeed’s heels with a very luxurious and minimalist proposal. Metallic buttons, rounded air vents, steering wheel with touch controls, opaque wood: what will be the “premium” brand of the group?
The engine, according to what is known, will be the same as the most powerful Exeed and the Tiggo 8 Pro Max. We are talking about a two-liter Turbo block with 253 Hp.
