The Government of the capital has already warned that no report bulletin from the Municipal Police, Mobility Agents or SER controllers incorporates QR codes such as those of the false fines detected in Carabanchel.
It is not the first time and unfortunately it seems that it will not be the last either. The Madrid City Council has informed about the appearance of some photocopies that pretend to be traffic fines and that for the moment they have been located on the windshields of some vehicles in the Carabanchel district, although this alleged scam could spread throughout the capital and even reach other cities in the country. It is about what a priori we would all identify as a parking ticket in which you can see the logo of the Consistory in the header followed by a series of boxes that reflect the key to the false infraction, the denounced fact, the alleged precept violated and the amount of the penalty.

As you can see, at the bottom of the paper stands out a QR code which, according to reports Europe Press, sends you to the City Council’s penalty payment website without the user being able to make any payment. In any case, the administration recommends not scanning it because, as the Madrid government team itself warns, there is no official complaint bulletin that ever includes a QR code.
“Any notification of sanction imposed by agents of the authority is sent by certified mail or by the road electronic address ”, they emphasize.

This fact is already being investigated by the Municipal Police, which could open proceedings for a possible crime of documentary falsification and fraud. Likewise, it has been made known to the computer services of the Madrid City Council to avoid possible economic fraud.
Remember that before making any payment or sharing any personal data on the Internet it is convenient confirm the officiality of the recipient and, if you have any questions, get in touch through the different information channels available.
