The Civil Guard has released a new fleet of cars and in 2023 new units will arrive at the Benemérita. These are the chosen models.
The Civil Guard is opening. La Benemérita is renewing a large part of its fleet of vehicles and has received a total of 221 new vehicleswhich are already being used by units from all Commands.
These are 30 new Toyota Land Cruiser units, equipped with a bumper kit and underrun defense, which will go to the Nature Protection Service, another 26 vehicles of this same model, which will be used against drug trafficking in the Campo de Gibraltar, and a total of 165 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, which will be distributed in different Citizen Security units. The total value of the acquisition amounts to 9 million euros.
Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, the most acquired
Precisely, the Mitsubishi model is a 188 hp plug-in hybrid, which are obtained from the combination of a 98 CV thermal propellant and two electric motors, one of 82 CV in the front axle and another of 95 CV in the rear, and which allow it to travel 45 km in fully electric mode. The Eclipse Cross has all-wheel drive, although its benefits are not too outstanding: 162 km/h top speed and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds.

For the year 2023 the replacement of cars continues in the fleet of Civil Guard vehicles and an additional 70 million euros are already budgeted for the acquisition of 1,800 new units. In addition, another 5.6 million euros will be earmarked for leasing contracts for 1,300 vehicles for research units. To these must be added the 2,700 cars already purchased between 2020 and 2021.
“With these investments, well above the replacement average of the last ten years, it is intended to advance in a modern, efficient and sustainable vehicle fleet”, the Civil Guard has pointed out in a statement.
