In BMW’s history, there are interesting things that require courage and that not everyone can do. One of them is that the brand offers its flagship model with a hydrogen-powered version with an approach far beyond the age. To be frank, I am sure that the competitors in Stuttgart and Ingolstadt are looking at the Bavarian brand with envy.

The car, called BMW Hydrogen 7, is actually a hydrogen-powered variant of the BMW 7 Series with body code E65. BMW needs to be congratulated on two issues. The first issue is this: Although the 90s are over, it is a manufacturer that has not lost its experimental feature. The second issue is that the brand confidently implements these experimental, timeless initiatives. So much so that BMW offered hydrogen technology directly in its flagship model. Those who follow the automobile industry can guess that such a move takes heart.
The BMW Hydrogen 7 is based on the most powerful variant of the 7 Series, the BMW 760Li and 760i. At its heart is, of course, a V12 unit, of course, but flammability is obtained from hydrogen, not fuel. So yes, the BMW Hydrogen 7 has an internal combustion unit.

It produced 100 units of the Bavarian brand Hydrogen 7. It was given to politicians, businessmen and even industry people like Erich Sixt, president of the world-famous rental company Sixt. This was because the Hydrogen 7 would attract more attention from such big names.

In fact, at the heart of the Hydrogen 7 is a 6.0-liter V12 unit that can run on both premium gasoline and hydrogen fuel. With values such as 260 PS and 390 Nm of torque, the car reaches 100 km / h at a standstill in 9.2 seconds.
The hydrogen tank of the car can hold up to 8 kg of hydrogen fuel. This allows the car to travel about 201 kilometers with hydrogen.

BMW’s 7 Series with body code E65 has been the most talked about 7 Series from the day it was introduced until the day its production was terminated. The car, which has the interesting lines of Chris Bangle, at first was as disgraced as a car could be, and was not well remembered by car lovers, especially due to the chronicity of technical problems.

The E65 case code 7 Series, which recovered well after the makeover, made a name for itself with a hydrogen-powered variant being produced and sold to customers. The V12 is a unit, a hydrogen powered car. Doesn’t it sound interesting?

Let’s just say that the V12-engined and hydrogen-powered 7 Series was introduced exactly sixteen years ago.
