Bertone is one of the best-known Italian coachbuilders for its participation in iconic industrial projects for brands such as Alfa Romeo, Citroën, Ferrari, FIAT, Lancia, Lamborghini and Opel, and with emblematic models produced such as the Alfa Romeo Giulia Y Giulietta Sprintthe Citroën BX, XM and ZX, the Lamborghini Countach and Miura, and the Lancia Stratosamong others.
And now, 110 years after its founding by Giovanni Bertone, the Italian conglomerate looks set to return with an all-new car.
The return of the Turin firm stems from the brand’s own communication on social networks, where it has been announcing that something big is going to happen: “Bertone is back”He says.
Bertone is working on a sports car, and from what is seen in the teasers, it would be a two-door coupe inspired by the 1968 Alfa Romeo Carabo concept car.an extremely low and boxy car designed by Marcello Gandini.

“When the imagination goes beyond all limits, definitions too. That is why the unique beauty of the 1968 Bertone Carabo had to enter the category of dream cars. What will be Bertone’s next dream?comments the brand in another post.
After several financial complications, which ended with Bertone being bought by FIAT first and then bankrupt, the industrial group has been managed since 2020 by the brothers Jean-Franck Ricci and Mauro Ricci. They are two people with extensive experience in the design and development of industrial projects, particularly in the automotive industry with work for Daimler, Renault, Stellantis and Volkswagen.

Bertone wants “position itself at the top of the high-performance car segment, building on the rich history of the Italian brand and creating exciting new possibilities for the future.”
