Lewis Hamilton has spent what is his worst season in Formula 1. English has not been made with no pole and has not achieved victory some in a course, 2022, in which the Mercedes was not at the expected level at the beginning of the year and for this reason it was weighed down until the end.
Now, the team has shared an interview with the pilot, seven-time world champion, in which he even talks about how it seemed that there was a “ghost” in his car.
“Barcelona was a big step, but it was a false positive. It was like a ghost was in the car and came back,” he says.
Because the car was lurching: “There was a lot of trial and error. Times when updates didn’t work. Others in which different things were tried. I failed so many times… but through that you learn.”
“That’s what it was all about, overcoming failure and ego, strengthening our relationships and our communications. It has been enriching.” says Lewis.
Hamilton makes that clear: “This has been the toughest year for everyone in these ten years… but it’s been awesome. I knew we would eventually make it.”
Now he is looking at the next year: “I am very excited for 2023. It is another chance to fight for a World Cup”.
