In our drag racing column, we are together today with a challenge where the Petersen Automotive Museum on YouTube brought together a Ferrari Enzo and a Maserati MC12. Enzo took its first step on the market when the dates showed 2003, when it was Ferrari’s flagship model with a V12 mid- engine layout.
The 669 horsepower and 656 Nm torque produced by this beauty allowed it to accelerate from 0-96 km / h in 3.7 seconds. The top speed of the vehicle is measured as 350 km/h.
Enzo’s competitor is an MC12, which we know as a special homologation for Maserati to enter the race for the first time in 2004. A total of 50 pieces of it were produced, 25 of which came into our lives in 2004 and the other 25 in 2005. What makes this drag race interesting is that the MC12 is predominantly based on Enzo. Because he shared the same chassis and engine as Maranello’s super baby. However, when we look at it on paper, we see that the MC12 is slower and its top speed is on the lower side.
In the first race, the MC12 did not get off to a good start and handed the victory over to Enzo himself. His winning laps do not end in the second race, and once again he is the winner. Enzo, who also won the third race, almost says “I own the place”.
