Mahmut Erozturk, Editor-in-Chief Mahmut Erozturk, the Dutch representative of the International Association of Journalists, received the journalism award of the year in the category of achievement awards of the Golden Tulip Republic Ball, which was held for the 7th time this year.
The Golden Tulip Award Ceremony and the Republic Ball, traditionally held every year in the Netherlands, took place in Den Haag with a magnificent ceremony this year. The ceremony, hosted by Sa Baran, started with a moment of silence followed by the National Anthem and the Dutch anthem. The 7th Golden Tulip Award Ceremony, held this year in memory of Cüneyt Arkın, continued with film screenings consisting of films about Cüneyt Arkın and his interviews. The opening speech describing the meaning and importance of the day was delivered by the Deputy Consul of the Turkish Consulate General in Rotterdam, Mr. Ali Erbaş. Mr. Erbaş won the appreciation of everyone by sharing the enthusiasm of the night with the guests in the hall until the end of the night. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s favorite songs were sung and folk dance performances were held at the ceremony.

Yonca Evcimik, the popular name of Turkish pop music, attended the award ceremony, which was attended by famous names such as Naim Süleymanoğlu, Türkan Şoray, Ediz Hun, Nukhet Duru and Fatma Girik in the past years. Yonca Evcimik, who set an example with her animal rights advocate as well as her music career, was awarded the Golden Tulip Honor Award.
Evcimik, who faced the intense interest of Turkish fans living in the Netherlands, sang his most popular songs in the night. Miss Turkey Global Universe 2023 Miss Merve Üretim and Miss Belgium Chaira Vanderveeren were among the famous names who attended the night. In addition, in the night followed by members of the press from many countries; very special guests from the world of art, politics, sports, society and business showed up. One of the well-known figures of the Netherlands, Lawyer Tarık Şaki, the entire management of Fenerbahçe Netherlands Association, famous Dentists Hülya -Ahmet Kaya from Rotterdam, Businesswoman Dilek Karabulut, Nimet Akgül, Rukiye Yalçın, and Amsterdam’s famous architect Ecem Feray were among the guests. Arif Yakışır, Songül Akkaya, Yunus Emre Director Adil Akaltın, Hamza Polat and Hasan Tekten were among the attendees.
In the night, signed jerseys of the four big teams that left their mark on Turkish football were auctioned to be transferred to the benefit of stray animals and the disabled. The 7th Dutch Golden Tulip Awards, which were held this year, also found their owners throughout the night.
