Among the many battles that are expected in the next Formula 1 season, one should not forget to see who is the leader of each team. In some, like Red Bull, it is clear with max verstappen in front of Sergio Perez. But that is not the case with Mercedes.
Franz Tosthead of Toro Rosso, has analyzed the case of the silver arrows in an interview with ‘Speedweek’: “I expect a three-way battle between Max, charles leclerc Y George Russellwhich is already stronger than Lewis Hamilton”.
That is his forecast for 2023, assuring that what happened this year has not been normal: “The superiority shown by Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing this year is quite rare.”
About AlphaTauri, talk about Yuki Tsunoda and how he showed himself “superior” to Pierre Gasley in the last tests: “He has developed reasonably well, he has been able to improve and he has been faster than Gasly in the last qualifications”.
“How much he can still improve will depend solely on him, but I expect a strong 2023. And from Nick (DeVries) he did a very good test in Abu Dhabi and his feedback was very good, we were impressed,” he explains.
De Vries will be the novelty from March. And in the team they are convinced of its performance: “We still have two tire tests and one private test before the official Formula 1 tests arrive. That means that It will have traveled between 3,000 and 4,000 kilometers at the beginning of the season. He should be well prepared for the season.”
