It was revealed that the KIA EV6 2023 has been awarded the qualification TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) in 2022.
EV6 earned ratings of “Okay” in all six 2022 IIHS crashworthiness evaluations including tests for driver side small frontal overlap, passenger side small frontal overlap, moderate frontal overlap, side (2022 original test), roof strength, and headrest tests.
It also earned a “higher” for available frontal crash prevention ( vehicle-to-vehicle and (daytime) vehicle-to-pedestrian assessments) and a “good” rating for standard headlights.
The 2023 EV6 is the third vehicle to earn a 2022 TSP+ rating following the 2022 K5 and 2022 Stinger sedans. Seven KIA vehicles earned a 2022 TSP rating, including the 2022 Telluride, 2022 Sorento, 2022 Seltos and 2022 Carnival built after March 2021 (with specific headlights), 2022 Sportage (with optional frontal collision and specific headlights), 2023 Sportage (with specific headlights) and 2022 Soul, (with optional frontal collision avoidance and specific headlights), leading the brand to 10 total awards and the fifth highest in the industry .
