The TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E team is ready for the new season. With the Porsche 99X Electric Gen3 developed in Weissach, he participated this week in the official Formula E pre-season tests at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia. It was a successful conclusion to this phase, before from the start of the season on January 14 in Mexico.
On the Spanish track of three kilometers and 376, the team put the finishing touches on the Porsche 99X Electric Gen3 ahead of season nine of the FIA ABB Formula E World Championship. During the four days of testing, German Pascal Wehrlein covered 955 kilometers. His new teammate, the Portuguese António Félix da Costa, Formula E champion in the 2019/2020 season, completed 871 kilometers.
The eleven Formula E teams carried out these tests with their main drivers and their new vehicles. With the third-generation cars, the opening race in Mexico will mark a turning point in the first world championship for electric single-seaters.

Florian Modlinger, Competition Director of the Official Formula E Team
Modlinger commented: “We are behind four hard days of testing where we developed our program as planned. Overall it was one last positive test and we now head to Mexico feeling well prepared for the start of the season. After the first qualifying session in Mexico, we will know where we stand in relation to our rivals.. The team has worked hard and deserves a break after such a busy year. We will take a breather during the holidays and then we will return to the fullest in Mexico.

Pascal Wehrlein
The driver of the 94 car adds: “We faced some challenges in Valencia, which is normal when you are racing a completely new car. These tests serve to discover what works well and what still needs to be improved. I was surprised at how reliable the Porsche 99X Electric Gen3 already is and I am excited about the start of the season in Mexico. We are well prepared.”

Antonio Felix da Costa
António Félix da Costa, driver of the no.13 car tells us: “The days of testing in Valencia were very productive. We have a new car with less weight and more power, you can not ask for more. The Porsche 99X Electric Gen3 is a lot of fun. I like this process of working on a new car and finding out what works in terms of set-up and where we could make some adjustments. I am very happy to bring my experience to this task and to support the team.”
