The 2022 season has been a real nightmare for the team repsol honda it’s MotoGP. So much so that they have finished in last place in the manufacturers’ classification. They have missed a lot Marc Márquez that has been able to reappear in the final stretch.
The man from Cervera has spoken about the difficulties in riding his motorcycle: “The Honda gives you, but when you fall two or three times without understanding why, then it is subtracting you. But I always try to get the most out of what I have, even if it gives me a fifth”.
In the podcast ‘En la Honda’ he talked about the Valencia tests and wanted to tone down that he used at first, being very critical: “The tests went well, but you always want more. The evolutions that have occurred are tiny.”
“Two more steps have to be taken to have something with incentive and foundation to fight for the title, which is where we want to get to,” said the eight-time motorcycling champion.
“We have suffered a bit with the engine, especially in circuits like Malaysia. There are problems with the front end, the way to brake to stop with less time and risk, and then the exit from the curve. I think if we improve corner entry, the exit will improve,” he details.

He acknowledges that after four operations on the same arm, things are very difficult: “An arm that has been operated on four times will not be the same one hundred percent as the other.”
“I still feel discomfort, the overload comes earlier and the races in a row cost me. But it is what you have to do a recovery on the bike; you throw away with what you have,” he says.
Many things have changed since his return. The most important, his aggressiveness when driving. “You could see that it was totally different, everything was more controlled. It got where it went. It was a very fine style, but it came ninth… it was not enough. There was limitation,” he explains.
A situation that changed in the last tests: “This last World Cup, in the end, I was able to fight for podiums and there was progress, which is what is important.”
