“I’m not here to let anyone through”

A battle that ended charles leclerc Against the wall. His fight with Lando Norris at the Brazilian Grand Prix it ended in the worst way. The Briton has received countless comments and has decided to defend himself in statements to the Formula 1 website.

The one from McLaren affirms that “left space” and that his fight was “clean”: “He tried to pass me on the outside and there was a little contact. Obviously I didn’t want any contact, I needed a clean run, but I’m not going to let everyone pass, I’m not here to let everyone pass.”

“Maybe I could have given her two more inches and he could have given me two more inches. He tried to squeeze me at the entrance of the turn, maybe he should have expected a little more from me not being able to keep the inside of the line all the time. But I did the best I could,” Norris explained.

And classify what happened as a “race incident”: “I feel like it was a racing incident. I know he came off worse and it’s a shame, I didn’t want that to happen.”

Leclerc’s position

These statements by Norris coincide with those of Leclerc, who also spoke of “leaving space”. Although he talks about himself, of course: “I’m pretty sure that I left the space.”

“I think he lost the rear end and then he touched me. So yeah, it was a shame. After that I made a good recovery, but not enough to fight for better positions,” said the Ferrari driver.

Leclerc finished the Grand Prix in fourth place behind Carlos Sainz, his teammate. Norris, for his part, dropped out.
