Las Vegas. Next stop for Formula 1 in 2023. Great novelty of a World Championship that will be very, very long and that, with the incorporation of this urban track for next year, will have a total of three tests in the United States. There is still, but despite that they have already wanted to celebrate an Opening Party in an event in which figures such as Lewis Hamilton, George Russell and Sergio Perez.
And the seven-time English champion could not be more “excited” to race in Las Vegas: “When I went through that straight I have remembered all the movies that have been recorded in the city”.
“I’m sure this race is going to be the best… although it won’t be easy to stay focused. We will arrive to win the race, but we want to enjoy all this”, he claimed.
Be careful because it points to a wedding: “If we do a double next year we have a whole night to think about something. We may end up with Russell on the roof, Or we’ll try to get her to marry someone.”
“When Russell was in the safety car, I have removed the brake control so I couldn’t do burnouts,” Lewis confessed.
“I’m coming with my girlfriend here, so…”
But Russell has removed the wedding option as Hamilton wants: “I’m coming with my girlfriend, so…”
“The track is designed so that there is a lot of overtaking. It can be crazy.” says the Mercedes driver.
Donuts, burnouts… and back in the simulator
Before, there has been time for the Mercedes single-seaters and Sergio Pérez’s Red Bull to delight the fans with some good ‘donuts’ in the near Caesars Palace.
And also to see, thanks to Naomi Schiff, driver of the W Series in 2021, how will be the full track after taking a lap in the simulator.
The GP, from November 16 to 18, 2023
At the moment, the scheduled date for the 2023 Las Vegas GP is the weekend of November 16 to 18, with which the world champion of next year could come from here.
